Juan Pavez is a PhD student in Computer Science at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María. Juan also holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María. His research interests include artificial intelligence, deep learning, natural language processing, and probability theory. Juan has more than five years of experience working on applied data science projects, especially in the field of high energy physics. He also has experience working on large-scale scientific collaborations, such as on the Large Hadron Collider, where he completed an internship as a PhD student.
Juan’s research includes working on the intersection of machine learning and high energy physics, on deep learning applied to natural language processing, and on the theory of machine learning. As a software developer, Juan has demonstrated experience working in Python and C++. This includes teaching C++ courses at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María.
Juan is currently an associated researcher for WriteWise, where he is a deep/machine learning researcher investigating automatic punctuation analysis and discourse segmentation.
